When I was three years old… I almost died. That’s how the story always started.
A bladder infection left untreated, spread to my kidney… and I was sent to The Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles, where a handful of doctors would become very mystified by me. My body and its seemingly straightforward infection, did not respond to any medications they offered.
I didn’t have a disease....
